What it does
Runs a deterministic, local-first readiness scan (45 checks across security, billing reality, launch surface, reliability, quality & tests, observability, legal & commercial, and deploy & ops — plus app-type-aware checks) and returns a clear GO / HOLD / NO-GO verdict with a 0–100 score, a category scorecard, and a copy-ready Claude fix prompt for every failing or warning finding. Runs read-only on your machine on Node, with no cloud, no account, no deploy, and zero runtime dependencies.
Who it's for
Founders and AI-app builders who want a clear go/no-go answer on whether an AI-built app is safe to launch, submit to a store, or charge customers for — before users, money, or reputation are on the line.
What it does NOT do
Reports launch-readiness signals and evidence, not guarantees. It does not guarantee approval, compliance, security, or revenue, and it is not a legal tool, a security audit, or a penetration test. It reads your project read-only, redacts all evidence, and never performs manual gates (billing activation, store submission, deploy, DNS, email, OAuth/secrets) — it only tells you they are there.
How to try it
Download the founding beta zip from the downloads page and run it locally on Node — free to evaluate. Licenses are delivered manually by email after purchase.
What LaunchVerdict checks
- Security — hardcoded secrets, risky files, redaction gaps, disabled TLS, and debug mode left on
- Billing reality — fake or placeholder upgrade UI vs. real billing indicators
- Launch surface — placeholder content, app identity, dead or fake links, and unsupported absolute claims
- Reliability and error handling
- Quality & tests coverage signals
- Observability — logging and crash reporting
- Legal & commercial — required policy/terms and commercial readiness
- Deploy & ops readiness
- Browser-extension checks — permission scope and privacy policy
- Shopify-app checks — mandatory GDPR/compliance webhooks, approval-gated / Protected Customer Data scopes, and embedded App Bridge
- Mobile-app checks — sensitive OS permissions, blank iOS purpose strings, App Privacy / Data Safety, and store-listing metadata
- App-type detection (web SaaS, Shopify app, browser extension, mobile app) so it runs the right checks
How it works
- Point LaunchVerdict at your project — a CLI scan or the local dashboard's rescan. It detects the app type and runs a deterministic 45-check engine read-only; your source never leaves your machine.
- You get a clear GO / HOLD / NO-GO verdict, a 0–100 score, and a category scorecard, with all evidence redacted (secret-looking values shown as [REDACTED]).
- Every failing or warning finding includes a copy-ready Claude fix prompt that tells a Claude Code session exactly what to inspect and fix — and what not to do (no deploy, no secrets, no crossing manual gates).
Known limitations
- Experimental beta — checks and scoring may change or miss things.
- Reports launch-readiness signals and evidence only — no guaranteed approval, compliance, security, or revenue.
- Not a legal tool, security audit, or penetration test; not yet reviewed for production use.
Changelog
- 2026-06-25 — Beta page refresh: added a visible FAQ section (with FAQPage structured data) covering the GO/HOLD/NO-GO verdict, local-first privacy, free-beta terms, and what it does not do.
- 2026-06-25 — Beta page refresh: added a closing feedback / beta-access call-to-action below the long capabilities list so the page no longer dead-ends.
- 2026-06-25 — Beta page published with 45-check scope, capabilities, and how-it-works walkthrough.
Frequently asked questions
What is a GO / HOLD / NO-GO verdict?
After a deterministic, local-first readiness scan, LaunchVerdict returns one of three verdicts with a 0–100 score and a category scorecard: GO (no blocking issues found), HOLD (warnings worth fixing first), or NO-GO (blocking issues to resolve before launch). It is a readiness signal based on the checks it ran — not a guarantee of approval, security, or revenue.
Does LaunchVerdict send my code to the cloud?
No. It runs read-only on your machine on Node with no cloud, no account, and no deploy. Your source never leaves your computer, and secret-looking values in the evidence are redacted (shown as [REDACTED]).
Is LaunchVerdict free?
Yes — it is free while in beta, with no account and no payment required. It is experimental, so checks and scoring may change, and there is no guarantee of revenue or results.
What does LaunchVerdict not do?
It reports launch-readiness signals and evidence, not guarantees. It is not a legal tool, a security audit, or a penetration test, and it never performs manual gates for you (billing activation, store submission, deploy, DNS, email, or OAuth/secrets) — it only tells you they are there.
Which kinds of apps can it check?
It detects the app type — web SaaS, Shopify app, browser extension, or mobile app — and runs the matching checks on top of its core 45-check engine, so the verdict reflects the surface you are actually launching.
