Free checklist Shopify Launch Checklist
A Shopify store can look finished and still lose the sale at checkout. These are the boring checks that decide whether traffic becomes revenue: what the total actually says, what the policy page answers, whether the discount code survives a real cart, and whether any of it works on a phone. Everything here can be done from your admin and a browser.

Buy something from your own store on a phone. Real card, then refund yourself. Do it on mobile data, not office wifi, and time how long the first page takes.
Compare the advertised price to the final total. Write down the price on the product page, then the number on the last screen. If they differ, know exactly which lines caused it.
Find every fee before the customer does. Shipping, handling, service, and any app-added fee. If a fee only appears at step 3, decide now whether to disclose it earlier.
Test shipping rates against a real address. Including a far-away one and an apartment number. Confirm the rate that shows is the rate that charges.
Read your own "free shipping" terms out loud. Minimum order, excluded regions, excluded sale items, delivery window. Every asterisk is a support ticket later.
Use a discount code in a real cart. Then try it stacked, expired, under the minimum, and on a sale item. Confirm the error message is understandable.
Confirm the discount field is findable on mobile. A hidden code field sends buyers to a coupon site and often back out of the checkout.
Answer four refund questions on the policy page. How long the window is, who pays return shipping, what happens if it arrives damaged, and how to cancel before it ships.
Check whether checkout forces an account. If guest checkout is off, know that you chose it and why.
Fail a payment on purpose. Use a declined test card and read the message a real customer would see. Confirm the cart survives the failure.
Verify the order confirmation actually arrives. Check the inbox and the spam folder, and confirm the email says what was bought, what was charged, and what happens next.
Open every product variant. Confirm nothing shows a broken image, a missing price, or an out-of-stock combination that still adds to cart.
Look at the store on a small screen at arm's length. If the buy button, price, or shipping line needs a zoom, fix that before spending on ads.
Confirm your contact path works. Send yourself a message through whatever the store offers and make sure a human can reply to it.
Write down how to undo the launch. Which theme version to revert to, which apps to disable, and who does it if the checkout breaks at 2am.
